
Barney McMahon is London born and based artist. He graduated from a foundation course at Central St Martins in 1990. He went on to graduate a BA Fine Art degree at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1994.
He has been working on numerous Public and Private commissions since then. Notably working with the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea in conjunction with the Notting Hill Improvements Group in 1997 to create a longlasting community mural in the Notting Hill Gate High Street.
Other NHIG projects he undertook with the local council included designing a country farm gate for a campaign aimed to help bring art back into the area which was then created into a billboard and advertized in the W11 area.
He has also produced hiphop for numerous mcs/rappers since the 90s until present. Listen on Bandcamp
He been involved in many projects over the years including working on story boards for a Ferrari advert (Eddy Irvine meets Michael Schumacher), album covers for rappers/musicians, tshirts for strip clubs/bands/brands, indoor murals for homes/pools/jacuzzis, murals for gardens/garages and computer game level graffiti lettering (Crysis by Crytek) and many private commissions of portraits/pets/landscapes/abstracts and more

Between September and December 2025 he will restore his Notting Hill mural which had been badly graffitied over since Covid. The RBK&C, Ladbroke Assoc, Pembridge Assoc, and Ruby Zoe Hotel have all sponsored the restoration project.
An opening of the restored mural will occur on January 17th 2026 with the Mayor of RBKC unveiling the newly restored mural.
As of 2026 Barney continues to work on music/exhibitions/murals and commissions from his West London HQ.
